Woah! I don't know /what/ was up with this story before, but the paragraphing was all messed up. Ah well. I fixed it.
The alarms blared loudly. The black and red hedgehog jumped to his feet and looked around.
"Shadow!" a girl called "Follow me!" The girl led him into a room and closed the door behind her. Shadow recognized the room at the main control room, the one with a perfect view of earth. Shadow suddenly felt something slightly heavy and metal connect with the back of his head. The world spun before him and Shadow stumbled backwards. He shook his head and looked up and his red eyes widened. He lunged forward, and his stretched out hands encountered glass. He spun around, looking for an opening in the glass. What was she doing?
"Maria!" he called, panic evident in his voice. The girl looked up at him with her sad crystal blue eyes. Shadow wondered momentarily how the frail girl had managed to knock him off balance like that but he didn't care.
"Shadow," Maria began, he voice barely about a whisper.
"Maria." Shadow's call was more of a plea than anything.
"Shadow, please, for all of the people down there, give them a chance to be happy. Give then a chance to follow their dreams." Shadow gasped as he realized what Maria was about to do.
"Maria, no!"
"Sayonara, Shadow the hedgehog." Maria pushed a button and the capsule that Shadow was in shuddered.
/No! She can't! Maria! Don't do this! I care about you too much!/
"MARIA!" The capsule shuddered again and was launched towards Earth. Shadow stared up at the space colony helplessly as he watched the room lit up with gunfire. His eyes widened even more. "MARIA!!" Shadow fell to his knees, too tired to cry. He clenched his fist and closed his eyes. He opened them again and looked down towards Earth "I promise you Maria. For all of the people down there. I promise you. revenge!"
