This from the point of view from a child, a young girl, who was caught up in the curse.
Every day started off the same.
Wake up. Get dressed. Eat breakfast. Go to school.
It never changed. It was always the same.
Every afternoon was the same.
Arrive home. Do homework. Read. Eat dinner. Read some more. Go to bed. Then repeat.
It was exhausting. A never ending cycle. No change, EVER.
Then came a small child. He changed the cycle. He saved everyone.
He came when I was nine. I might've been nine, I actually have no idea. I looked nine and went to school at the grad a nine year old went to. Anyway, he was just a newborn then but there came a point when he actually was older than me. It makes no sense at all but that's just how it happened.
His name was Henry.
He fought against this schedule that had been made for us. He fought against the mayor. No one fought against the mayor.
Henry started to change our lives.
I began to read right after I got home from school instead of doing my homework right away. I know it sounds pathetic but there always seemed to be something holding me back from just changing something as simple as a scheduled event in my day. It was as if the imaginary grip that had been holding onto me was loosening.
My accomplishments slowly grew in size. I began to play outside and go exploring the woods surrounding the town. It once even got to the point that I didn't do my homework one night. That kind of thing was unheard of.
When Henry turned 11 the grip tightened slightly. Henry had become far more rebellious. He had actually taken a bus all the way down to Boston to find his birth mom, Emma. That really pissed the mayor off. Everyone knew that she saw Emma as a threat to her and Henry but no one knew why.
After a while the slight tightening went away. It was as if something had pried open the grip.
The grip seemed to grow weaker on everyone in town. The sheriff, who everyone knew was having a fling with the mayor, became infatuated with Emma. The was an actual scandal in town. My school teacher, Ms. Blanchard, and Mr. Nolan apparently fell in love. I'm not sure how many people believed that.
It even got to a point where a young woman got out of a deal with Mr. Gold. No one gets out of a deal EVER.
Eventually though a spell was broken. That was when we found out we were cursed. Legitimately cursed.
That was when I found out the town was actually being controlled. The mayor actually controlled us. It makes a lot more sense now why I never got older.
The schedule I used to have was gone. I didn't have to live by it anymore.
Storybrooke became a lot more interesting after that.
We came together as a town.
We fought Peter Pan and his lost boys.
We went back home and came back to the town.
We beat Zelena.
We won against an evil snow queen.
We went against some of the most evil beings around.
The schedules we all used to have kind of went out the window.
Everyday still starts the same.
I still have to wake up and get out of bed but now I don't have to get dressed right away.
I don't have to always eat breakfast.
And I don't have to go to school anymore.
My life has completely changed and it's all because of a little boy.
A little boy changed my life.
