Percy Jackson and the Wolves

I groaned as I got up in my tent. Before you ask what I am doing in my tent, I am Artemis' hunters' guardian. Many people would think that surrounded by girls was a blessing. That might be true but if the girls are man hating hunters girls, yeah not fun.

My only light in this hellhole was Artemis. She obviously leaded the 'Percy Hate' group but she never participated in any pranks. All she did was pile up work on me that her hunters were supposed to do.

So I can say that I absolutely did not like it when she came to my tent and said that she has to introduce me to the wolves.

Now normally, many people would run away hearing the word 'wolves' and I am pretty sure that Artemis expected the same from me but after spending 3 months with Lupa and her pack, I had basically leartn how to deal with most of the wolves.

So I agreed, half-heartedly. I had no intention of giving Artemis pleasure in seeing me run away like a coward. I just hoped that the wolves wouldn't rip me apart and eat me like a chow.

Obviously, she led me the wolves' pen and held the door open for me. I stepped in and looked to see all the wolves tied in a leash and their eyes held hunger.

Artemis said, in a taunting voice, "Meet the wolves. They havent eaten for quite some days and I am sure they are eager for some meat. Good luck."

With that she left but I could hear her laughter till here. I paled as the wolves stood up and let our a low growl.

I looked in their eyes, a move Lupa taught me to do in front of wolves to show that you arent afraid. I let out a growl similar to a wolf and the wolves stepped back in surprise before the largest of the wolves stepped forward and growled at me.

I looked into its eyes before growling with more ferocity, recognising him as the Alpha. His eyes held respect but he howled at me. I narrowed my eyes that they were resembling slits and barked. Lupa told me that if the wolf is howling when you growl, they bark to show them your power.

The Alpha stepped back in shock before it bowed before me. The other wolves followed and I growled again to show that I am the boss and they whined.

I nodded and materialised some meat, remembering what Artemis said, 'They havent eaten for quite some days and I am sure they are eager for some meat.'

The Alpha stepped forward and cautiously took a bite. Its eyes lit up and it began to eat with such a ferocity that within seconds the entire meat was gone.

The other wolves whined loudly and I summoned each of them meat which they devoured within seconds. After they were all full, I opened their leashes and opened the flap letting the wolves out.

I looked out and saw Artemis looking shocked as I came out with the wolves, alive and untouched.

I gave her a crooked grin and chuckled as her cheeks went red. She looked away and said, or rather asked, "How did you manage to tame the wolves?"

I replied, "Lupa."

She rose her eyebrows in surprise before understanding passed and she nodded and said, "I should have expected that."

I nodded and said, "Yeah. Plus giving them some meat proved helpful too."

This time she let out a laugh.
