I wanted to make this short story in honor of pi day (3.14). Acted this out in a role-play thread several months ago. I'd like to thank my roleplay partner for her permission to turn this into a fanfic. Hope you enjoy!
On an early Saturday morning, Meelo had the perfect plan to prank Jinora. When she starts to meditate in the temple, he was going to hit her in the face with a fruit pie. She'll be sitting there for hours, with fruit pie covering her face and she'll have no idea. Air acolytes and other airbenders will walk by and see it.
"It's going to be so funny! She'll be so humiliated." Meelo chuckled to himself. He took a peak from around the corner to the main hall of the temple and saw Jinora walk in. He just had to wait a few more moments.
Jinora went to the center of the room and sat down, crossing her legs and placed her fists together. After taking a breath, her eyes were closed. This was it!
With a grin spreading across his face, Meelo ran from his hiding spot with a yellow fruit pie in hand.
"EAT THIS!" he yelled before chucking the fruit pie in the direction at Jinora, aimed at her face.
The exclamation from the nine year old caught his older sister's attention and she opened her eyes. With quick wit, she performed an overhead twirl with her arms to airbend the pie around and send it straight back to her little brother.
"Huh?!" Meelo's expression quickly changed from smirk to shock. The pie was coming in fast at him and-
SPLAT!
The pie collided with his face at enough force to knock the young airbender on his back.
Jinora got up from her position to walk over. Meelo sat up and the pie slipped off his face, revealing the boy's face to be completely covered in yellow fruit pie filling. His only recognizable feature being his blue-gray eyes, which looked up at her in humiliation.
"Gotcha!" Jinora giggled.
Seeing his sister enjoy this made Meelo look at her with indignation. The look on his face only made Jinora giggle even more.
"You know if you didn't yell 'eat this' I wouldn't have heard you and maybe your attack would've had a better chance at being successful."Jinora said.
Meelo couldn't bear to see Jinora enjoy this any longer. He wanted to hit her with a pie and embarrass her but instead he was the one who wound up getting hit and embarrassed. His eyes turned into a glare and he clenched his teeth, giving out a groaning sound before hopping back on his feet.
"I'll get you for this!" Meelo yelled as he turned away from his sister with raised fists while running out of the temple.
"Sure you will." Jinora said sarcastically under her breath, rolling her eyes in amusement and trying to contain her laughter.
She went back to her meditation where it would go on uninterrupted.
