I know that sounds so stupid, but it actually is. I hate the feeling that the world rests on your shoulders. Those stupid quests that I pretend to love so much. But it kind of makes sense that I lie for him.
He's perfect, you see. The kindest mother and a powerful sea-god father. He inherited the best qualities from both.
Power- Inherited from his father in one way, and his mother in another. His father gave him the power of the sea. His mother gave him the power to listen to his heart whenever he was in doubt.
Kindness- Inherited from his mother and father. His mom is all round kind. So he got the best nice genes. His father, despite being one of the big three, is the calmest and the most controlled. He sat on his fathers throne to speak with him, and his father looked past all of that.
Bravery- Again, both parents. His father will hand him a sword and look proudly. His mother will date a disgusting, woman-beating man to help her son. She'll suffer in silence to have the tiniest chance of helping her son.
Strength- His fathers godly strength that fights battles. His mothers inner strength that helps him everyday.
Patience- Given to him by his mother. The patience to wait to see if her son is alive after a summer away at a fighting camp. To let her son go to war and wait patiently for his return, however doubtful it may be at times.
Love- I think his genetics were overwhelmed by how much love was involved. He is bursting with love sometimes. You can see it in his eyes whenever he talks about his mom. You can feel it in his voice when he speaks of anyone he loves.
All together, the qualities make for something I've never seen. He's handsome, he's kind, he's smart… he's mine. Every time I look at him I can't believe my luck. And I can't help feeling I'm not enough for him. I'm not a daughter of Aphrodite, I don't feel beautiful, and I certainly couldn't make him love me the first moment I met him.
He challenged me. He got me to see that I wasn't always going to win. And if something was stronger than me, he'd be there to beat it alongside me. And when he told me, I fell in love all over again.
I fell in love with Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon.
