Roy Mustang was a total ass.

Today, though, he was being nice. And when I say nice, I mean really, really, really nice. The kind of nice that kindergartners do that either make you want to smile like an idiot or puke so much that you can't remember what color your shoes were this morning.

Of course, there had to be some sort of catch.

Right?

I mean, he didn't call Ed short. Yet. He told Breda that he liked his hair today. He bought Havoc a new pack of cigarettes. He lit one for Havoc using his alchemy glove-thingy. Roy said that Al's armor looked shinier, "Did you do something to your armor?" He even broadcasted that the military was going to stop looking for Scar. Really? ! ? He was going that far?

Well, in any case, Ed and Al both found this behavior really suspicious, along with everybody else. But, Havoc being as awesome as he was, noticed something even more disturbing.

Riza was smiling.

A lot.

She was, like, sunshine and lollipops, "OH MY GOSH, MARIA, IS THAT A NEW HAIRCUT! ?"

And she really freaked everyone out. Except Mustang.

He and Riza were just dandy, bein' all HAPPY and SMILING and LAUGHING and HOLDING HANDS-

WAIT! THEY WERE HOLDING HANDS! ? !

So, of course, everyone, except Al, made the connection.

Al figured it out when he saw the ring on Riza's left hand finger.

And Ed, being the idiot that he was, asked Roy when he proposed.

And of course, Roy started acting like an ass again, calling Ed short, telling Al his armor was too shiny and to get it dirty like it usually was, commenting on how bad smoking was for your health to Havoc, burning off all of Breda's hair, telling Maria that she wasn't allowed to get new haircuts and threatening to fire her, and telling Denny Brosh that his hair was too long and burned it off so that he and Breda looked somewhat alike.

Riza, on the other hand, was even happier than before, seeing how everybody noticed it, and bragged about being engaged to the hottest guy in the military.

And so, all was right with the world once again.

Ed really wished that the world were messed up.

The End

A/N: Boredom does a lot to a person.
