A short little one-shot for Christmas. Enjoy.
Carlisle watched fondly as three year-old Edward happily tore into his Christmas presents. It was his first Christmas as Edward Anthony Mason Cullen. Edward let out a pleasant shriek as another present was presented to him. Yes, Carlisle knew he was spoiling the little boy with the many, many toys he had bought, but he really couldn't help it.
"Dada!" Edward chirped. "Wook what Santa give me!" The little boy bounced up and down on his bottom. "Wincon Wogs!" Carlisle smiled, Edward not being able to say "L" was simply adorable. "I see that. Are you going to build a house with them?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"We aweady gots a house."
"Ah, very perceptive little one." Edward wasn't paying attention, he was back to pulling colorful paper of to reveal new treasures.
"Twains!" Another excited squeal came from the little boy. Carlisle sat back into the couch, closing his eyes with a smile on his face.
He soon felt a small weight on his knees. "Hey bud. What are you doing?"
"I open pwesents on your wap." Edward stated as he settled himself against Carlisle's chest. "Chwistmas is a togetha howiday, so I open pwesents wif you. Dat otay dada?" Carlisle smiled. "I would be honored to open presents with you Edward." With that, Edward returned to opening his gifts.
"Dada?" He said after a minute. "Where your pwesents? Did Santa foget you?"
"No bud, my present isn't anything Santa could give me."
"What is it?"
"You." He said, kissing his son's copper bed-head. "Dats not a vewy good pwesent dada." Carlisle laughed. "Oh, it's the best present I could ever ask for little one." Edward gave him a "you are insane if you think that" look before scooting off his father's lap. "Where you going?" Edward disappeared up into his room a returned a moment later.
"Dis is a pwesent dada."
The little boy handed Carlisle a folded up piece of paper with a Christmas tree drawn on the front. "Open it." The child insisted.
Carefully unfolding the paper, Carlisle gave a small gasp. "Edward, it's beautiful." Carlisle held up the drawing Edward had made for him. It had two stick like people one with blonde hair, the other with brown. They were hugging and above them was written;
Mery Chismas Da
"Thank you sweetheart." Carlisle beamed at his son. "Welcome dada." Edward said as he resituated himself on Carlisle's lap. "Dada."
"Yes Edward."
"Dis is da best Chwistmas eva."
So it was pretty lame, but I hoped you found some enjoyment in it. Merry Christmas!
