Summary: Drabble in which Hook and Wendy are cursed along with everyone else. Emma has a proposition for Killian. Set around '7:15 AM'

A drabble to ease myself into writing Once Upon a Time. I'm currently working on a Lieutenant Duckling fic. I wanna write most, if not all, of it before I post it, however.

Emma shot him a look, folding her arms. "Just shut up and listen, would you?"

"Okay, okay!" Killian held up his hands in surrender. "What did you want to talk to me about?"

"I wanted to ask you if you'd like to be my deputy."

He blinked. "Deputy?"

"Yeah," she nodded, unfolding her arms. "It's been kind of quiet at the station, since …" she glanced at the bootlace tied around her wrist, and swallowed. "And I figured I could use some help."

"Emma, I have a job."

She rolled her eyes. "A job that you complain about daily."

"How do you—? Of course, Wendy."

"She's a good kid," smiled Emma. "She worries too much about you, is all."

"We worry for each other," Killian explained. "After we lost her parents …"

"I get it. Believe me, I get it. Wendy's lucky to have you. The foster system is not a nice place."

"I promised I'd look after her."

"And her seeing you unhappy isn't going to help," she pointed out. "Look, I'm not trying to force you into anything, but I'm sure that this would be better for you than selling fish. So, think about it, okay?"

"I will," he inclined his head. "You have my word."

"Good. See you around, Jones." "And you, Swan."

Captain Swan are ruining my lives one episode at a time. I've rewatched the scene from 'The Tower' about fifty times since Sunday.

I kinda wanna rewrite season one and stick Killian into it. It's probably been done before, has it? Because I would very much like to read that.

I made Killian Wendy's guardian instead of her 'father' (as he is in the gifset). The memories of Wendy's parents dying would be enough to "destroy their happiness", which is the whole point of the curse.

Also, with the use of 'hands', I'm including his prosthetic hand in the plural. His Hook is probably in Gold's shop somewhere. Just in case that would cause confusion.
