prologue:

We stood together at the train station wrapped in each other's arms,
never wanting to let go.
Nothing else mattered.
Not his soon to depart bus,
nor my impatient mother could stop this moment short.
It was as if time had stood still and there was only us.
At this moment everything in my life seemed to be in the right place.
For once, everything was perfect.
I guess this is the start! I thought.
If anyone had told me that this moment would mark the end,
I would have laughed.
Even so,
I wish someone did tell me.
Maybe then I could have avoided what was yet to come.
Maybe then I could have avoided falling.
