Total Eclipse

A/N - This is my very first fanfic, so please be nice! I was listening to the Glee version of this song and the idea wouldn't leave me alone, it reminded me so much of these two. Reviews and comments are greatly appreciated. I'd like to know if I'm rubbish or not :P

Every now and then I get a little bit lonely and you're never comin round.

It had been years since the Doctor and Rose had left each other at Bad Wolf Bay. As hard as she tried to get on with her new life, her thoughts kept returning to him.

Every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears.

As hard as she tried, and as hard as her family tried, she couldn't forget the adventures she had alongside him. More nights than not she would lie awake staring at the stars, watching and waiting, tears rolling down her face.

Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of the years have gone by.

Looking ahead, Rose saw the same monotonous day played out over and over again. Waking up, going to work, coming home. She knew there were better things out there, but was stuck in this universe, without him.

Every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes.

Turn around Bright Eyes...

Yet all she had to do was picture his face, the dancing eyes and mischievous grin, and she'd feel herself smile. No matter what life threw at her, or the lack of anything being thrown at her, she could see him, encouraging her, supporting her...loving her.

Every now and then I fall apart.

She had her bad days though.

Days went by when nothing could improve her mood, and her friends and family despaired, cursing his name. Rose lay that night, like so many others, in the middle of a field, so similar and yet so different from the one on New New Earth. "Why doesn't he come back?" The thought ran over and over again in her head. He weighed heavily on her heart, soul, and mind. Her life would only be complete with him in it. Whatever excuses he gave, he had to know as well as she did that they belonged together and neither would be complete with out the other.

She could remember clearly how frustrated she'd always be with him. He'd get them into trouble and mutter and tinker about before getting them to safety in the nick of time. She had no clue what was going on most of the time and yelled more than once at him for it.

We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks.

But that was what made it exciting. They had so much fun together. The suspense and not knowing was the source of more than half the excitement . The tension now was threatening to explode. She could only bear waiting for him for so long.

I really need you tonight.

She needed him so much, it was a physical ache.

If he would only come back, everything would be all right.

Once upon a time I was falling in love, now I'm only falling apart.

She had known how dangerous it was, falling for the last Time Lord. But she couldn't help herself, and now she didn't want to.

Once upon a time there was light in my life, now there's only love in the dark.

She was his world, his sun. And now he was gone.
