I was inspired. Ti-Vennie of dA has a gallery full of amazing pictures of Ino-Shika-Chou and this inspired me, mainly the pictures of Ino and Inoichi. You should check it out!

I don't own Naruto

III

"I'm leaving dad!" Inoichi looked up from the eggs he was scrambling at his daughter's voice. "I'll be back in a few days!" her smiling face appeared in the doorway, giving him a small little wave before it was gone again. He turned back to his eggs, frowning at the yellowy milky white turned to a fluffy yellow. He sighed, stabbing the protein dejectedly.

She's grown up so fast.

He closed his eyes, memories flashing through his mind her still being so small, a tiny tyke that fit in his hands so easily. She would come running to him, tears coming down her face as she clutched his pants, slightly above his knee, telling him in an almost inaudible voice how the kids at the academy were mean to her. He remembers the times when she'd come running in, a smile plastered to her face, pulling hard at his shirt, at his hand, finger, anything, begging, pleading, needing to show him what she learned. Her bright teal eyes shown with excitement.

He also remembered the days he'd come home from a mission, and she'd be sitting on his bed, covered in his sheets, afraid of the monsters, or thunderstorms. He would only need to whisper her name for her to come running into his arms, clutching him tightly, begging him never to leave her again.

As he flipped his eggs over, watching them deject and become more solid clumps he smiled, remembering all the other dads with daughters, complaining how their little girls grew up and stopped talking to them.

She had never done that. She was always there. Even after she became a genin, went off on her own missions, leaving him here to deal with the silence alone.

Except he couldn't run into her arms, begging her never to leave him again once he spotted her chakra coming through the door. He had to hold it in; smiling as he thanked the gods she was alive. Safe.

As she grew he felt his importance dwindles slightly. He no longer needed to tie her hair 'because daddy always does it the best!' He needed to help train her, keep her alive, and teacher her that no, no matter how much Chouji eats and is a fat ass, you have to accept him as your teammate, and you have to treat him the same as Shikamaru.

It wasn't until recently he had to deal with boys. He forgot about them. His daughter grew up so fast it wasn't long before he had to threaten the other part of Ino-Shika-Chou into making sure she was protected.

He wasn't going to be that dad.

"Dad! You're burning your breakfast!" he shook his head as his little girl, who almost came up to his shoulder, nudged him out of the way before removing the skillet from the burner, scraping the eggs off the bottom of the pan. She handed him the plate and smiled. "Don't space out when you're cooking dad. I want a house to come home to."

"Sorry, sweet heart." He watched her roll her eyes before steering him to the table.

"I'm leaving for real this time. So try not to burn the house down." She kissed his cheek. "Love you dad."

He felt pride swell in his chest. "Love you too, Ino."
