River Song called off the coordinates while looking at the security camera. She knew somewhere, at some time her Doctor would be keeping score in a museum.
After teasing the man and his guards for a bit, River flew out the Byzantium airlock and into space. She knew that the Doctor would catch her, like he always did.
As she flew deeper and deeper into space, she realized that the Doctor wasn't coming. Death approached her fast, and an impossible tear rolled down her face. Her last thought before the darkness consumed her was, "Where were you, my love? Goodbye."
She was the child of the TARDIS.
She was the daughter of the Last Centurion and the Girl Who Waited.
She was the Doctor's, the Oncoming Storm's, the Destroyer of World's Wife.
He did not save her.
He could not save her.
She was River Song, in a Parallel Universe.
