A/N:I got the idea for this during my English Lit course-we were talking about Anglo-Saxon poetry, its stylings and format, and especially Beowulf (the epic poem, not the crappy movie). Skyrim has several references to Beowulf, and takes a great deal of inspiration from Germanic, Nordic and Anglo-Saxon culture, so this seemed an obvious thing to do. P.S. The Dragon Language as it exists in Lore is a bit too simple (in tense and verb construction), so I added a few grammatical rules here and there.
SUFFIXES: Always add an apostrophe before a verb or noun ending to differentiate it from the word itself, except when making a plural.
-To make a possessive, ad 'u.
-to make perfect past tense, 'aan.
-to make ongoing verbs, add 'ae.
-to make future perfect, add 'iin
-to make future imperfect, add 'ed.
To make compound words, just put them together and capitalize the first letter of each word. Some words, if they are the first word in the compound, can be shortened. This requires, of course, that the omitted parts don't change the meaning of the rest of the word.
I also had to add new words, in which case I used an Old English/Anglo-Saxon translator to find a word and then modified it a bit to fit the Dragon Language.
