AN: This is my first Harry Potter related fic, so be gentle! This is just the starting point, the prologue if you will. I should have the first full chapter up by tomorrow. I'd love to know what you think! Also, this is posted on though through my penname of "girl of many names" just so no one questions Authors.
A Collection of Moments
A Letter from Hermione Granger
Dear readers,
A collection of moments; as humans that is all we truly have, isn't it? A lifetime filled with a collection of moments. I am here to take you on a journey through a mere handful of the moments shared between two unlikely lovers; Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. I feel it is the best way for me to personally honor their memory and I am finally far enough beyond my own grief to be able to revisit these memories and to look through their journals
Their story began when they were eleven years old, preparing for their first year at Hogwarts; School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The first few chapters or moments of their story is filled with pain, rejection, bigotry, and life threatening adventures. I like to call these; The Awkward Years.
Those of us who knew them well wished that their lives had gone along a different course, that the blood prejudices many of us were exposed to, had not gotten in the way of what could have been a much better story. The Fates had a different path in mind for each of us though, of course. Who can truly argue with the Fates? I didn't believe in such malarkey in the beginning either, but you only had to know Harry and Draco to know that something higher than us all had a hand in the path in which their lives took from the moment they first met, to the moment the determined path changed for the better.
It wasn't really until their fourth year of school that things began to really change between them, though as an outsider I can't be certain as to why. I can only recount the moments they shared with me themselves and the ones I found in their journals after they were gone. So I have put together a collection of my favorites, for various reasons. I feel I must warn you, not all of them are perceivably happy moments to the casual observer, but important to the story of their love and their lives as a whole.
I cannot guarantee that all of these moments will be of the cleanest content, so bear that in mind, and prepare yourself, after all, boys will be boys! If you feel inclined, please leave word as to your thoughts and feelings on the events and memories of their lives and love that I share with you. I look forward to hearing them, maybe even finding out which are your favorites!
Blessed Be,
Hermione Granger
