Life as a Judge Is hard
Relief washed over him as he whacked his favourite gavel, Garry, down giving the final verdict. Not Guilty. To get to where he was, it had taken days of court trials to find the truth; long hours of paperwork; enduring many whacky witnesses' with their testimonies and making sure did not eat too much salty foods as his wife constantly told him.
Even though the case was locked away and finished with, something bothered him. It happened with every case he was involved with. At the start, the middle and the end of a case the same thing came to mind.
The court record
That pesky little file that held so much vital information was his problem. It was the best thing any lawyer could ask for in court. The judge had always been fascinated by the evidence that could be found in the court record. If he was a lawyer himself he would get one straight away. It was always a wonder to know how spiky haired lawyers could carry such things around on a daily basis.
However the evidence inside was easy to deal with it. It was the profile section that frightened him the most. In any case that had brought up everyone- involved in that case -would have a picture and a brief description about them.
This little part of the file was his enemy. Smiling photos filled the pages. Underneath the photos it gave some basic information about them. Why did it bother him? The answer was simple...
Everyone involved with a case would appear in that folder: from ten year olds to the unknown ages of the older generation, females and males, friends and enemies. It was a mockery. Everyone had the privilege of being in that sunflower. Everyone apart from him. Even the victims were in there and they were dead.
"You would think being a judge would give you the highest of respect but apparently not. You do not even get the respect of that stupid folder. A folder! Life as a judge is hard. No respect and no salty foods..."
