Jack looked suspiciously at the dress he found in the wardrobe. So, this was Rose's infamous 'wedding dress.' He folded his arms and waited to visit The Doctor after Rose had gone to bed.
The Doctor was, of course, working on the TARDIS. He rarely slept, and often talked to his ship when the other travelers were asleep.
He didn't bother to acknowledge Jack's presence until Jack hung the dress on the rail.
"Don't let Rose see that," the Doctor said.
Jack crouched to his eye level. "If you had wished to marry her off, you could have asked me."
"No thanks, Jack. You 5lst Century humans are a bad influence on a girl like her."
"Really?" he said sarcastically. "Well, anyone else you had in mind for her?"
"Don't be ridiculous."
"I've been around many species. No matter what, sometimes they'll be gain to push away what—who they desire the most. Are you willing to let her go?"
"It's her life, Jack. I don't own her."
"But you love her. Can you let her go?"
He responded with an icy-blue stare. He didn't like that Jack had so easily called out his feelings.
"Well then, Doctor, if you have nothing else to say, I'd like to request the next stop."
"And where would that be?"
"The best place in the galaxy to buy a wedding ring."
