There's a lump in her throat and it's getting bigger and bigger as she gets closer to 10. She hears a commotion inside and breathes a small sigh of relief.

It doesn't last long.

The door doesn't open.

She has reached 10.

Jade outstretches her arm but never actually opens the door. No, never. That would be like admitting defeat. Like she was caving in. She feels an unfamiliar feeling washing over her. Tears are welling up in her eyes but she never sheds a tear. Not a single one. She waits a few more seconds but nothing is happening. It seems Beck has made his choice and that was that. She walked down Tori's driveway and she felt like her feet were made of lead but somehow made it back to her car. Jade had an iron grip on the steering wheel she thought it would break; she grit her teeth so hard to keep her emotions at bay, she knew her jaw would ache tomorrow.

In a few seconds, years she put into this relationship had disappeared. How would she deal with it? She knows her tough exterior is cracking tonight, but she decides to deal with it tomorrow. Only tomorrow would tell whether or not she and Beck can last without each other.
