The Misunderstood Soldier
*Author's Comments*
This is a poem about Uranus. Its about how she will stop at nothing to complete her mission as a senshi & the price she pays for it.
------
In this life I am a soldier.
The heavenly planet protects me,
And my mission is one of justice,
But as ironically as it may seem,
I'm often viewed as more of a demon,
Whom has risen from the darkest depths of hell.
Why is this such you may ask?
It is all because of the desire I have,
My strong desire to complete my task.
The price of accomplishing my objective,
In my eyes, it can never be too high.
For it is a mission of utmost importance,
I won't let anything stand in my way,
And any sacrifice that may come to be,
No matter how great, nor how small,
In my eyes, it can never be too much.
For as I see it, the good of the many,
Simply out weights that of the few.
How far will I go you may ask?
The limit stretches far beyond the clear blue sky,
And if it means in the end someone must die,
Whither it be a stranger, or someone I know,
Whither it be my partner, or even myself,
For me, none of this is ever too much.
I will complete my mission without mercy,
And those who stand against me will die,
But that is simply the price I have to pay.
You may ask just how I can be like this?
But you see, for me there is no other way.
Although I appear cold and heartless,
In the end I am doing it all for you.
So you may breathe one more breath,
So you may see one more sunrise and sunset,
So you may embrace your beloved one more time,
So you may sing your child one more nursery rhyme.
And so this I ask you, were those lives not worth all these things?
You can preach to me about my actions,
And tell me that I am going about it all wrong,
But look at all those lives that I've had to take,
That simply go unnoticed or with time become forgotten,
By the ones whom they were sacrificed for.
But you see, as for me that simply can not be.
For every life I take always goes noticed by me,
And no matter how many eons may come to pass,
Each lost life will remain permanently etched within my brain.
Don't think I go unpunished for my sinful ways.
For my hands suffer more with each passing day,
And as they become dirtied with each life I take,
Stained crimson from blood the of the sacrifices I make.
And for all eternity they will serve as a constant reminder,
An endless and painful reminder of the of the price I have to pay,
All so I can grant you the chance to live another day.
You may come to see the price of justice as too much,
But know that I simply don't see this as such.
