As he watched Sirius stumble and swagger his way along the path that led out of Hogsmeade through some trees, he wondered if he should have put his foot down at that last round of firewhiskey.
He looked behind him, and saw James pull a protesting Peter into the nearest shop. He smirked. James must know, he thought, shame Peter doesn't. He chuckled to himself, and looked back at Sirius who had stopped his mumbled drunken singing, to stare at him confusedly.
"What'cha laughin' at?"
Walking around him, the sandy-haired boy replied, "Your dreadful singing!"
Putting on a mock-offended look, the darker haired boy trotted along next to Remus, "I know your problem," he slurred, "You juss haven't heard the ending yet. You'll looove it."
Remus sighed and rolled his eyes, but didn't protest as Sirius yelled, "Skip to the end!" He knew how much he loved that part.
Sirius then proceeded to launch into the ending, pulling Remus into a clearing by both hands. Swinging them both around, he practically fell over trying to make them spin faster with the finishing tempo.
"You know why, you know why, YOU KNOW WHY!!"
Finally, he stopped spinning and slumped, panting onto his back in the snow, pulling Remus on top of him.
They stared into each other's eyes, both with cheeks flushed pink, and a twinkle to rival Dumbledore's – in Sirius' case, mostly due to far too much alcohol.
Remus sighed, "Merlin, Sirius, I love you."
"I know you do, luv," Sirius replied gently, trying not to slur too much. With that, he pulled the other boy down into a warm kiss that tasted of firewhiskey and chocolate and something that was entirely Sirius.
A/N: Cookies for those who know what song that is. And yes, those the words are all the clue you're getting. :D
