His glasses were falling down the curve of his nose and he couldn't see to even push them up. He stuffed his hands into his pockets, shielding them slightly from the harsh winds. The street lights around him were flickering. Will was out far too late and when he got back Mrs. Arner would kill him. It wasn't his fault that he couldn't sleep; he was plagued with nightmares and strange dreams of magic and evil guys with magic. Of course, he never spoke of these dreams, he would be outcast and hated. Magic existed thousands of years ago, after the Great War most people who could do magic, Enchanters, were killed and the ones who lived were outcast and no one mentioned them again. Will having dreams about them wasn't good. He quickened his pace; Mrs. Arner would defiantly kill him now. So, would Derek. Oh God, his little brother Derek would cut off his head and serve it to the other kids on a silver platter. Derek was always strict with rules. Despite being 2 years younger than Will, he acted like a mother./p

The crumbling, stone building that once was the orphanage where Will had lived was on fire. The flames were bright orange and streamed upwards. The smoke was so high in the air he could barely see it. He took off, there was no way he was letting anyone die, especially his baby brother. Will skidded to a stop in front of the flames surrounding the building. "Will!" He heard a shout; he recognized the articulate British accent as soon as the cry went up. Derek, he wasn't dead. Will relaxed, his brother was ok. "Derek!" He spun," You're ok..." He stopped, Derek did not look ok. "What happened? Are you hurt?" Derek was completely covered in soot and his nose and arm were slightly crispy." I'm fine, I'm fine. It's a little sore but it's not life threatening." Derek's hands flew to his hips, "The real question is where were you? You literally missed the building going on fire. "He leant in closer," It was so cool!" Will smirked, "You're the only person who would find a building going on fire cool. I was on a walk, couldn't sleep." Derek rolled his eyes," Stop doing that. You'll be caught one day." Will laughed quietly," By whom? Mrs. Arner? As if that old hag could do anything to me." He lifted his arms to show his muscles," I'm the macho man!" Derek glared at him," Now is not the time for jokes Will! The orphanage just went on fire!" At this Will's face fell. Oh, yeah. A question came to Will's mind.
"Um... Derek? Where are we gonna go?"
"I don't know, Will, I don't know
