Let's get on with the fic, shall we, dears? ;P

Volterra, Italy Year 2010

Aro ran at vampire speed out of his laboratory, and called out to his two dearest friends.

"Marcus, Caius! Come see! It's fantastic. Like the TARDIS, only not!"

Marcus and Caius looked up at each other from their chess game, and rolled their eyes, heaving themselves out of their seats with reluctance, and yet still looked incredibly graceful.

"What have you done now, Aro?" Marcus asked, half irritated, half amused.

Aro continued to grin gleefully, and clapped his hands twice as he spun around and headed back to his lab, the doors opening by themselves.

"Ta-da!" Aro threw his arms towards a cupboard with a laptop duck-taped onto the side under an umbrella.

Marcus and Caius looked expectantly at Aro, who huffed.

"It's a time machine." He explained, looking pleased with himself.

Caius scoffed, "And does it work?"

Aro shifted from one foot to the other, "About that...I got Jane to try it, and she hasn't come back yet..."

"Oh God." Caius muttered, closing his eyes and shaking his head slowly.

"What year did you send her to?" Marcus asked, attempting to keep his cool.

Aro dragged his foot across the stone floor and mumbled unintelligibly.

"What was that?"

"1954." He coughed.

Caius groaned and rubbed his hand over his face, "Why 1954?"

Aro looked sheepish, "They had cute poodle skirts, and cool music."

"You do remember that we lived through the 50's ourselves, right?"

"Well yes, but I wanted to relive it." Aro had his head bent down, like a naughty child getting told off by his parents.

"Then why didn't you send yourself there?"

"Because I'm the only one who knows how it works. That's why."

"Then how come you haven't got Jane back yet?"

"Because I don't know how..."

"But didn't you just-"

"I know, I know, but I...I forgot."

"Stupid idiot vampire forgetting how to use his own damn machine." Caius muttered.

Marcus ignored Caius' jibing, "And just how, Aro, do you propose we get her back?"

Aro sat down on a wooden antique stool, deliberating.

Twenty minutes later, he jumped up, pointing his index finger in the air, "The Cullens!"

Have no fear! There will be more! Soon, with any luck...
