Author's note: Just so you're aware, this story was made about two years ago, before there was a Baby Blues category on this website. So any critiquing of my writing style won't be that helpful, since I've sort of improved since writing this story. This is already on Deviantart, but I'm adding it here too because the only other Baby Blues story is rated M (ew, why?)

Hope you enjoy this. :)

The Phone Call: Short Baby Blues Story

Okey, today I will call Zoe.

I don't want another day to pass by where she still doesn't know.

"He-um, hello?" I know I had dialed the MacPhereson's number.

"Bogart?"

A kid voice. Good. I had never heard Zoe's voice on the phone, but I'm sure this was it.

"Look, I've been waiting too long for this opportunity to pass! Listen, remember kindergarden where you made all of your other friends? I was mad at you because, I was jelous of those kids. Truth is, until our moms started this crazy war we were best friends, and maybe some day we could date or something? You know, when we're older! If that's okey with you..."

"Bogart, I- um, we've never really been friends. Why do you suddenly, um, like me?" Uh oh, this was not Zoe. I should have known! This was her brother, Hammie.

DARN! REALLY?! The one time I actually call Zoe and it's HAMMIE?!

"Oh, Hammie! Sorry! I, um, could you leave that message to Zoe? Thank you!" I hung up the phone, breathing heavily. I imagined Hammie's confused expression. He wouldn't tell Zoe. I know it. If anything, he would tell his mom that he got a VERY weird phone call from the neighbor.

Okey, maybe I'd tell Zoe tomorrow at school. Or Wednesday. Or next year.
