Chapter One: I Guess I Missed That One Day in Elementary School Where They Teach You How to Be a Person
Pansy groaned as an alarm across the room began to ring noisily. Today was the first day of classes of her second round at seventh year. Since many students, particularly seventh years, did not get a full and proper education during the last year, the professors decided to offer an "eighth year" to those who wished to come back and complete their education. Not many people seemed interested, but enough to keep the program running. The downside of this program was that there wasn't enough room to keep all the eighth years in their house dormitories. This mean that they were all crammed into several classrooms-turned-dormitories. Pansy had to share a room with seven other girls of which only two of them were of her house, and both of them were insufferable.
The alarm continued to ring and Pansy sat up. "Can whomever owns that alarm turn it off? Some of us like our sleep and don't want to be woken up at the ass-crack of dawn," she snarled in the direction of the ringing. However, because she was still half asleep her voice wasn't as threatening as it normally was. It did get the attention of the owner of the clock who hit the snooze button and rolled over. Pansy rolled her eyes and laid back down. No sooner had she settled down in her bed did another alarm go off. She sighed heavily and put her pillow over her head. This muffled the sound slightly and she was able to drift back into a light sleep.
Not ten minutes later, however, did yet another alarm go off. Pansy growled and sat up. All three alarms had come from the same direction and she drew the conclusion that they were all for the same person. She decided that this nuisance should be nipped in the bud. She was not going to deal with multiple alarms going off a solid hour before she needed to be awake. It was ridiculous and to be honest, quite rude.
She stomped angrily to the other side of the room and with a quick flick of her wand, smashed the alarm to bits. "Listen, I don't give a fuck who you think you are, or how things worked in your old house, but let me make one thing clear. This whole alarms-going-off-every-ten-minutes thing has to stop. Today. It's annoying and rude. There are other people in this room who don't need to be up this early and – "
A loud snore cut Pansy off mid sentence. She looked down at the sleeping girl incredulously. "Excuse me? You wake me up and don't even have the decency to listen to me yell at you about waking me up?" She ripped the covers off the girl, who sat up groaned loudly and tried to grab them back.
"No you don't. You don't get these back. You've lost your right to blankets," Pansy tugged the blankets away from the blonde girl. She was pretty sure the girl was a Hufflepuff. Figures.
"Please, just five more minutes," the girl mumbled, her eyes opening. Pansy scoffed and flicked her wand again, sending a jet of ice cold water at the girl. The blonde sat up with a shriek. "What the hell was that for?" She glared at Pansy through her long dripping locks.
"Well, it seems as though you're awake now. Good. As I was saying before you rudely interrupted me with your obnoxious snore – "
"Pansy leave her alone," said a familiar voice from the next bed over.
Pansy turned, glaring at the one and only Hermione Granger, "I don't believe I was talking to you, Weasel-Lover."
"You weren't. However, your obnoxious whining and Hannah's shriek happened to wake me up. And I do believe that unwanted sleep interruption was the exact cause of your assault on Hannah."
"I didn't assault her. I just – "
"Taking away my blankets and pouring freezing water on me is basically assault," Hannah said grumpily. She snatched the blankets back from Pansy and wrapped them around her shivering body. Pansy rolled her eyes and stormed off, grumbling to herself.
"Who the hell does Granger think she is? She helped win one battle and all of a sudden she thinks she's hot shit. I'll put her back in her place soon enough. First I have to deal with Blondie," Pansy opened her trunk and pulled out her robes and began getting dressed. Since she was awake so early she might as well go down to the Great Hall and eat breakfast. She yawned and glared in the direction of Granger and Blondie. The two of them were whispering to each other rapidly, pouring over their class schedules. Pansy scoffed and rolled her eyes. She slung her bag over her shoulder and walked out of the room and headed down the corridor.
Once she had reached the Great Hall the rest of the Castle was awake and bustling with life. She stifled a yawn and glared at everyone around her. How could everyone be so perky this early in the morning? It was disgusting. She sat down at the Slytherin table next to Blaise.
"Morning, Pans. What's got you looking to aggravated this morning?" He asked, pouring himself a glass of pumpkin juice.
The black haired witch scowled at her housemate, "People like you." She poured herself a large mug of coffee and took a large gulp. It burned slightly on the way down, but it was a nice burn. She took another gulp before setting the mug down and helping herself to a pile of potatoes and eggs.
"Not a morning person, eh? Neither is Draco. He's something else when you wake him up from his beauty rest," Blaise laughed at his own joke and took a bite of bacon. "So how is it living with girls from other houses? I bet there's some fresh asses to look at. I'm sure after looking at Millicent Bulstrodes ass for seven years it's a welcome change."
"Piss off, Zabini. You might not be able to restrain yourself in a room of girls but I have more class than you."
Blaise scoffed, "Barely. Remember sixth year when we caught you shagging that seventh year Ravenclaw in an empty Charms classroom?"
"Like I said, piss off," Pansy hissed, looking around. It was common knowledge that Pansy was into girls, but she still didn't like discussing her sexual conquests in public. Blaise grinned and shook his head.
"You're way too easy to rile up, Pans. You should probably work on that," he winked and stood up. "I've got to get to class. See you later."
"Yeah, alright. See you," Pansy nodded at her friend and downed the rest of her coffee. She continued to eat, not paying much attention to the time. When she finally looked up from her plate she realized that most everyone had left. She looked at her watch. She stood up and quickly made her way out of the Great Hall and to the Greenhouses. By the time she got there, class had already started. She looked around for an open station and groaned. The only open one was next to Blondie from earlier that morning. She made her way to the station and sat down, not looking at the girl beside her.
