Hisana struggled to open her eyes. She knew what would be waiting there for her. I don't want to face the world today. I still can't believe I abandoned Rukia, my poor defenseless baby sister. I am the most terrible person to ever live. She opened her eyes, looking around at her accomodations. A simple shack is what her home was. With a cot on the floor and a small onigiri at her feet, she made her way outside. In Rukongai, where one would kill for a grain of rice, she had to keep her treat safely hidden inside her thin yukata. She looked around at the street, trying to find some water (or Rukia, for that matter.) As she was walking, someone grabbed her and pulled her into the alleyway.

"Give me it." he whispered, with a knife at her throat.

"What are you talking about?" She said, lying. Of course he was talking about the onigiri. He then reached into her pocket, grabbing the onigiri.

"You stupid girl. How could you not know about this?" He then slapped her across the face. He then lunged toward her with his knife-

Hisana sat up in her bed, gasping. It was just a dream. Calm down, Hisana.

"Hisana? Are you alright?" Byakuya said, a small frown creasing his perfect features.

"I-I'm fine, Byakuya-sama. Just a bad dream." She tried to smile, but couldn't. That dream truly scared her. It brought back terrible memories of Rukongai.

"No, you aren't. What was your bad dream about?" He was showing a little compassion, which was unusual for him.

"Just about Rukon."

He then hugged her, because he could really sense this was distressing her. As he held her, she thought this.

Sometimes, but not often, reality is better than a dream.

Sorry if Byakuya was a little OOC on this one. That's how I imagined him acting when he was with Hisana.

This is my first story, so I'd like some feedback! Review! (Flames will be used for my fire pit.)
