Disclaimer: I don't own Vampire Diaries

"My, your lips look delicious!" Kol sang loudly, a mischievous smirk plastered to his youthful face and a drink in hand. Klaus' eyes snapped from his sketch to his younger brother and narrowed his eyes. "Don't be a Grinch, Santa Klaus. Those are the lyrics. Never such a blizzard before!"

The hybrid forced a growl before returning his eyes to his paper, attempting to hide his smile.

The room was basked in the warm glow of the large fire place, the lights coming from the Christmas tree, and filled with everyone Klaus cared about. Caroline sat beside Elijah on the piano bench as his elder brother played 'Baby, It's Cold Outside' with a smile, to Kol as he flitted around the grand piano striking various poses and making the youngest vampire laugh at his off-key singing, to his baby sister sitting on the floor against his legs.

Klaus simply ignored the fact that Katerina was perched in an arm chair a ways off, her eyes focused on his older brother while she swirled her wine around the glass in her hand. In fact, the doppelganger-turned-vampire's presence made this whole situation more typical to Klaus. From all the movies Caroline had forced him to watch over the years, the Original hybrid had gathered that there was always that one relative or in-law who's presence displeased everyone save for said in-law's spouse for what ever ungodly reason. And, Klaus was convinced there would never be rhyme nor reason to Elijah's infatuation with the impossible brunette vampire but it had come to a point when Elijah's pleas to pardon her had become more infuriating than the woman's presence.

Regardless of his confusion about his brother and Katerina, Klaus didn't let the slight annoyance take his attention away from the small, perfect moment playing out in front of him. His smirk grew into a smile as he focused on the three vampires crowding the piano, the smile in Caroline's eyes as she exchanged an amused look with Elijah at Kol's expense as the youngest Mikaelson brother struck another pose, mouth wide open as he belted the last chord of the song. He looked up at the scene when he felt Rebekah's head fall back against his legs due to her laughter. The hybrid smiled and allowed a chuckle to escape his lips that were normally pulled into a tense line while in the presence of his siblings.

He caught Caroline's gaze and knew from the look in her eyes that he wouldn't be living the content expression he was sure was on his face down anytime soon. And, for once he didn't care. He flashed a fond smirk at Caroline before letting his eyes drift back down to his sketch.

Klaus was positive that the carefree and warm atmosphere would be gone by morning; they'd all be at each other's throats once more but he was also positive that he wanted to take this moment with him through eternity. It was the small things that mattered and Klaus would be damned if he didn't get every detail of this perfect moment correct down to the lights twinkling in the branches of the Christmas tree and the snowflakes falling against the darkened window.

A/N: I guess it's a lil bit late but it was just a lil warm-fuzzy image I had of the Originals, Caroline and Katherine spending the holidays together I had to get out:) Lyrics (and title) courtesy of 'Baby It's Cold Outside'. Thanks for reading and please review if you have a sec.

I hope everyone had a very safe and Merry Christmas!:)
