I was always told by people, don't cry.
They would say things like...
Stupid girl, don't cry just because your dad neglected you.
Someone doesn't love you, then you don't love them, simple as that.
Don't cry because your sister was the "better" sibling, there will be people better than you, simple as that.
Silly girl, don't cry just because you had to grow up fast to take care of your sister.
You are the older one, and therefore must take care of the younger one.
Don't cry because you were separated from her, all siblings eventually will part ways, didn't you know that?
Sad girl, please don't cry because you blame yourself for losing your baby, it wasn't your fault.
I don't know why bad things happen, but they do. I'm not saying you deserved it, you were just unlucky.
Don't cry because you lost a child, because lots of people do, every day, and the world keeps turning, okay?
Baby girl, please don't cry because the boy who claimed to love you broke your heart.
I know you love him, but to him, you are nothing more than a mere object, something he can discard when he's done. Don't let your tears become his bullets.
Don't cry because he found happiness with someone else, you deserve better than him, you are beautiful, don't forget that.
No matter what event the world has thrown at me, I've always been told that tears show signs of weakness.
But it also shows that I'm human. and after a while of holding up anger and sadness, you feel as though you want to vomit.
Tears are normal, but it took me too long to figure that out.
