A/N Welcome to my story! This is a slightly different version of my other story, Daughter of the Silver Moon, so if you've seen something like this then this is probably what you were reading. Reviews are always appreciated if you have the time.
Prologue
Artemis
Artemis knew that she was breaking her oath, her vow of maidenhood that she had made right after her birth. But, she also knew that there were loopholes to any rule, and she was about to use one. She knew the world needed a daughter of Artemis.
With this thought, she let her arrow fly out of her bow. Artemis was on one of the archery ranges on Olympus. As the goddess of archery, she of course didn't need to practice, but one liked to show off.
The man is question whom she would have her child with was Wes Estelle. He was a good man, a man who had earned her respect. For a mortal, he was amazing at the bow, and loved nature.
Of course, if she could do it without having any affairs with men, then Artemis would most certainly use it. Unfortunately, that not was the way the universe worked.
Her half-sister, Athena. She too was a maiden goddess, but she had many demigod children. That was Artemis's loophole. She had no intention of sprouting a baby out of her head, but she would find another way. Technically, if she didn't have a baby in the usual way, and never dated a man, she would remain a maiden goddess. She didn't want any other annoying men getting any ideas.
As she shot her last arrow, it began to change. It grew and grew until, with a small pop, it turned into a baby girl. She had auburn hair and silver eyes. The girl merely stared at Artemis, regarding her with curiosity.
After recovering her shock, Artemis realized what had happened. When she thought about Wes, and having a child, she had been stimulating magic. It had responded to her needs, and helped her create a child.
Suddenly, she sensed her brother Apollo coming near her. Stifling her panic, she conjured a silver cradle and placed the baby girl in it. She grabbed a piece of paper out of thin air and scribbled a note to Wes on it, explaining that he now had a baby. Artemis summoned the winds, and sent the child off into the lights of New York City.
