Take the Hell Train
By Tommy Gu
"Its been a year and I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS DRIVE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD!" Barry cried out as a bus roared past as he and Tsubasa strolled around Shinjuku.
"Well I had the same feeling as you when I came to America for a concert, we all get culture shock sometimes in a new place.", said Tsubasa.
"Anyway, we've got to take the subway, we've been getting a lot of suspicious mirage activity there, the first time in 6 months ." said Tsubasa.
After Barry and Tsubasa hopped on the Subway. Everything turned out in the ordinary, a child played pat-a-cake with her sister, black suited buisnessmen going for their daily commute and Barry munched hot dog after hot dog as Tsubasa watched the tunnel lights fly past the windows.
But soon, the lights flickered rapidly inside the subway train. When the flickering subsided, everything seemed normal. If it weren't for one passenger had disintegrated into foam. Chaos errupted as people tried to discern what happened. hordes of people ran in circles as old ladies and buisnessmen accused each other of murder. But two voices ringed out more than the rest. A voice called out "Silence!" That voiced belonged the prominent private eye Satoru Shiga, he was a grey haired, wrinkled man who wore and khaki bowler and a matching trench coat and pants. He was sharp looking with eyes that had a sharp twinkle.
Another voice cried out "Every time I take the subway to work. I can't stop but feel pain, I simply want to end my struggle and with it, myself!" That grim soprano belonged to Kaori Shirogane, a young woman with a history of drinking and smoking problems as well as being one of the many shut ins living in desolation across Japan who were unsatified with their lives called Hikikomori. In an attempt to console Kaori, Tsubasa gave her words of encouragement. Kaori countered, saying that nothing could stop her from meeting her fate.
The ride continued on normally. After the subway made its first stops, things got even more bizzare. As Barry held Tsubasa hand tight, the train made a moaning and hissing sound like the child of a beluga whale and a viper. The subways lights flickered, creating a rapid light show, the passengers could only guess what would happen next as they huddled together, praying that they would not be the next victim.
Meanwhile, a new group of hostile mirages gathered in their lair. "Oh, what fun it is to see such mortals inflict chaos upon themselves." The leader of the hostile mirages Kalemat whispered as he smirked. Kalemat had a face of a rat, with eyes with a red scalera and green irises. His body was cloacked in black head down like his cohorts. His second in command Alf-a-ras gazed at the crystal ball showing the Mirage masters plight, she made a vile, almost girlish giggle "That will keep them entertained for a while." Her many serpents protruding from her scalp hissed with delight. "It will only be time whne they know the true culprit is." The vile child Boryoku commented with glee as he made his piercing laugh.
As each light flickered as the train moved across the never ending tunnel, more and more people disolved into foam. Admidst the unwavering chaos, Barry decided to go the conductors room, but the conductor himself didn't respond to Barry's pleas to investigate the mysterious deaths. The conductor was a stoic man, his eyes enveloped by sunglasses and his mouth concealed by a surgical mask. The conductor didn't do anything other than maintaining his grip on the train controls when the lights flickered again and the conductor himself dissipitated into foam and the subway braked harshly by itself and the destination the passengers arrived in was in
Meanwhile as the Yƫutsuna buzoku, the dissilusionary tribe assembled again, as Boryoku, the demon child made a scalding laugh and declared "Now they now who the real murderer is." Just as Boryoku said his remarks, at an Instant tentacles and crooked golum like hands sprounted from the seats of the subway, grabbing hold of any people in reach. Arms flailed and babies wailed. "Arght! I was just about hte write the result of my case!" Satoru Shiga yelled. "No, have I died and gone to hell? Please, God forgive me!" Kaori wailed.
Barry and Tsubasa quickly changed into their carnage forms. Tsubasa used her spear to slash at the tentacles and arms and helped the passengers evacuate while Barry used his gauntlets to force the sliding doors open. After all the passengers were evacuated. It was all over until, the subway train itslef morphed and enlarged until it turned into a giant godzilla like beast, its giant tail made by the hundreds of subway cars.
"Mwa ha ha!" cawed Boryoku. "Unleash you wrath, Subway Demon!" With a piercing roar, the subway demon was ready for battle. Barry and Tsubasa called upon their fellow mirage masters to combat this new threat. Once their comrades apparated by Barry and Tsubasa's side, the Subway demon made a piercing shriek with its many wheels braking all at once in its undercarriage. However Itsuki Aoi was detered by the noise and made a clean slash with rapier. A blinding light briefly flashed as his long blade touched the metal flesh of the monster. Tsubasa went next as she jabbed her spear in the subway demons abdomen. Sparks flew out of the Subway demon as it made a gutteral squeal. It retaliated by charging and swiping its tail at Itsuki and Tsubasa. Barry knew exactly what to do by punching full force at the monsters eye with its gauntlets. The monster howled in pain but it wasn't enough to blind it and responded with a even greater screech from its many wheels stopping all at once. Touma made his mark by running full force and uppercutting with his lance right at its legs. The subway monster fell straight on its knees, and struggled to get up. Now the mirage masters were ready for their finishing move, with the monster struggling to fight back. So together they combined into one giant body and slashed the subway demon with so much force that the monster exploded upon itself with the force of 10000 hydrogen bombs.
"Thank you so much for saving my life!" Kaori said excitedly with glee. "Thanks to you, I've decided to start fresh and to move on from my mistakes!". "Thanks to you too, for making the right choice kaori, because there is nothing more precious than life." Tsubasa affirmed. "Oh yes!" Satoru Shiga yelled "Finally I know the true perpatrator of these subway attacks, good thing that I took photos!" As the mirage masters guided the passengers back to the real world, Barry said "I'm so proud of you Tsubasa right now, you handled this situation like a pro man!" "No problem, we all get afraid sometimes, that's why we should remain resilient no matter what." Tsubasa replied. "Man I'm getting hungry!" Touma said while gesturing at his grumbling stomach "Lets go to the curry ramen shop I was talking about!"
"Thats a great idea!" Kiria said as she smiled "Vamamos Amigos!" Together, the mirage masters hopped to the portal back to the real world that they created. This was the first time, regular folk had encountered hostile mirages in person, the begining of a rift that would blur the Idolasphere and the Real World. It was also the first attack by the Yƫutsuna buzoku, but it wouldn't be the last.
