I planted my left foot firmly on the aged pavement. This was the day I had been dreading for some time. My first day of high school. I had never been exactly 'social' in my life, only having contact with 28 individuals. Of those 28, only 3 were humans, which I couldn't talk to, because it should have been impossible for a human of my 'physical age' to perform that action. But I wasn't human, and I could talk, not if I could help it, though. I simply preferred 'showing' people what I wanted them to know. But of course, my mom had told me to cut the habit, as I needed to get in the tendency of speaking, for school, of course. This would be my first time being around humans in nearly 4 years.
"Renesmee!" my mother called. I hurried over to her and the others and took a deep breath. We had already decided that Edward, Rosalie, and I would be the Cullen's, and Jasper, Bella, Emmett, and Jacob would be the Hale's. Jacob and I entered the school holding hands, of course. This got us a few glances from passing students. Jacob stood an incredible 6'10, and I was only 5'8. Jacob walked me to my first class, standing straight and smiling, as if he were showing me off.
After I had said goodbye to Jacob, I entered the classroom, and was appointed to my seat. I hadn't listened to the teacher most of the class, but instead, I examined my fellow classmates. I found that other students were also shooting looks my way, but would turn their heads once I looked back. All did this except for one, he was a boy, and he looked like he could care less about anything going on in class. Except for one thing. Me.
