When the Clock Strikes Twelve
When the Clock Strikes Twelve
It's New Year's Eve, and Jeremy and Ulrich are taking Aelita and Yumi to the New Year's Dance. Find out the chain of events that leads up to this moment and to what happens soon after.
New Year's Eve
Jeremy looked out the window of his room to see a bright sky greet him. He still wondered how and when he had got up the nerve to ask Aelita to go with him to the New Year's Day party, but that didn't matter right now. She was the only thing on his mind. He didn't quite understand it, but somehow, he couldn't stop making a fool out of himself in front of her. Jeremy knew that he had to ask Aelita out soon. He just hoped that he was ready in case that day came tonight.
Ulrich sat on his bed, waiting for the right time to come to him. When Yumi had asked him to come with her to the New Year's Eve dance, his heart skipped a few beats. Of course, he was happy to be able to take her to the dance, but he was still rather worried. Tonight, he made himself a resolution: He would confess his feelings to her tonight. His only wish was that Yumi felt the same.
Jeremy turned away from the window as his watch beeped. 7:15, he thought. Time to pick up the girl I've been dreaming about for months. Before he left, though, something stopped him. He knew that Aelita was special. But there was something that had just made its way to the front of his brain. But what if I'm not good enough? There are plenty other boys that she could choose from. Jeremy forced the thought into the back of his head and turned his computer off, and shut the light as he left the room.
After waiting for about a half-hour, he glanced at his watch. It read 7:15, which meant it was time to pick Yumi up at Aelita's room. Why did time have to move so quickly? He knew he was nervous, but was he really that nervous? Right now, he just wished that he wouldn't make a fool out of himself in front of his date like Jeremy usually did. After a few more moments of wondering what could happen and what he felt deep down inside him, he left his room, feeling just as confused as Jeremy was.
