Post Mt. Silver.

The hot sand began to sink underneath, and swallow him as he lay down. There was no one and nothing around him. The tide was still a fair distance away from where he was, but the sound of the breaking waves felt ever so close. 'This is the life, right Typhlosion?' said Gold as he winked at his closest companion. Typhlosion responded with a smirk, as he laid down beside his trainer, solemnly closing his eyes.
The joy of defeating Red would be something Gold would carry for the rest of his life.

What at first seemed like a cloud, happened to be a figure overshadowing Gold. He rose swiftly, yet simultaneously making sure he didn't disturb Typhlosion from his sunny slumber. '…Misty?' whispered Gold in disbelief, 'What are you doing here in Cianwood?' Misty stood with a blank expression, tying the top half of her bikini, and knelt down besides Gold.

'I heard you defeated Red, I just wanted to come and congratulate you'
'But you came all the way to Johto? Just for that? And how did you know I was here?'
'Well…not just for that. And Jasmine from Olivine said she saw you surf here' exclaimed Misty, setting out her beach towel, 'there's something else I wanted to speak to you about, Gold.'
Misty pulled a small pouch that lay within her beach towel, and produced a bottle of sun-cream, 'Would you mind rubbing some on my back?' said Misty cheekily.
'Urrrhh…ummm yeah sure why not…it is pretty hot out here in Cianwood now' stuttered Gold, 'What did you want to talk about though Misty?'

Misty lied down suddenly, flat on her stomach ignoring Gold completely. Beckoning Gold to come closer with the sly finger, Gold said nothing and did what he was told. Click! He opened the bottle and squeezed some on this hands and Misty's smooth back. As the soft, cold tips of his fingers made contact with Misty's skin, she blurted, 'What are you doing. That's not how you put on sun cream silly billy. Place your hands flat against my back…' in a flirtacious tone.

At this point Gold was completely embarrassed and had no idea of what to do in this situation. He tried to say something, but the words wouldn't come out. Meowth got your tongue? What's wrong with you Gold!He thought to himself.

'You know what Gold, just get on my back if you can't do it right' said Misty.
'Whaaa…What? No way I can't do that!' exclaimed Gold, 'look Misty, maybe it's a better idea if you do this yourself because I don't really feel'
'Comfortable?' interrupted Misty, 'I'm not going to get sun burnt Gold. Just do it, I'm lying down so just get on my back.'

Sighing, Gold reluctantly agreed. This doesn't feel right. He thought. She's right here in front of me, asking me to put sun cream on her! And I'm here making myself look like a complete fool!

Without warning Misty turned on her back, with her cold blue eyes piercing Gold. The clash left Gold on the edge of hyperventilation. To conquer the Pokemon league was one thing. But. She was just. Out of his league.

The sun was now resting upon the horizon, the sky slurred with purple and smeared with pink. The sun cream in Gold's hands began to drip. Misty grabbed him by the waist and pulled him forward onto her. She ran her tender fingers through Gold's hair as if it were water. Gold's heartbeat was now pulsating with ferocity. His warm breath skimmed across her cheek. Gold dug his hands in the sand beside her, leant closer until their lips were touching and closed their eyes.

Their legs intertwined.

Their mouths embraced.

Their love made the sun set.
