Intro
Dimitri: I never thought this was something I could give you.
His hands cradle her rounded belly.
Rose: I didn't think this would ever be something I wanted.
Dimitri: And it is now?
Glancing up, she finds his brown eyes.
Rose: Of course. What kind of world would this be if there weren't any little Dimitri's running around and staking things?
He smiles gently. Then his brows pull together concernedly.
Dimitri: What do you think he will be?
Rose: You mean… will he be a dhampir?
He nods.
Rose: …I don't know.
It turns out, the kid is entirely human.
