Old Benny boy
Most of you will know that Shanks has his own crew, the red haired pirates. But what about his own first mate, Ben Beckman. Yep the guy that has the long rifle and likes poking people in the eye with cigarettes.
This fic is about how he reaaaaly cam to be Shank's first mate.
"Damn Ben you suck big time"
"Here Ben have a smoke"
These are the two comments that I, Ben Beckman, will remember my whole life. My friends said them. My enemies said them. And I'm pretty sure even my old man said them as he abandoned me at that orphanage. But isn't that the way it is with all pirates. They were either abandoned or are running away from something. Me I have been fighting since the day I was born. But today is different; today I am leaving, for good, to become.... A pirate.
I, like every one else, heard the tales. Beware the pirates that sail the grand line. They'll fleece you for every penny then kill before you can blink. Most shuddered or screamed, or cried for loved ones that went to sail the grand line and never returned. But I did not. I'd been beat around enough. I couldn't beat them grand line pirates so I became one.
A pirate named Alvida was docked at the time so I decided to check it out. She was real ugly mug. She spent most of my "interview" discussing that while she is the most beautiful in all the sea she cannot have ugly people like me on her crew to ruin her reputation. On my way out I heard a baby scream, a women was giving birth on the ship. I hung around to see what was happening, it turned out to be a boy, and they called him, Cody.
