He watched her as she stood, in the middle of the corridor, head bowed eyes
closed, she wasn't moving, barely breathing.
Brown hairs surrounding her face like a veil her body swaying slightly as
she breathed in and out.
He slowly crept up behind her, hoping to scare the little chit and take some house points as well.
"Miss Granger what on earth are you doing standing around like this." He barked out watching her flinch slightly.
"Remembering sir." She whispered.
"Remembering what girl, that you're late for class, or that you've not done some homework?" Severus chuckled inwardly at his own joke.
"No Sir, remembering the dead."
Severus stopped his mouth opened slightly; this was not the response he was expecting.
"Explain yourself Miss Granger." His voice cracked slightly.
"Today is the Eleventh of November Sir."
"Yes I know that silly girl, what does that have to do with you standing in the corridor with your head bowed?"
"On the Eleventh hour on the Eleventh day of the Eleventh month muggles all around the world stop to remember those who have died in all wars." She whispered softly.
"As we are at war now Sir I thought it would only be fitting to remember those who have died in our wars too."
Slowly Hermione raised her head and looked her teacher in the face, her eyes where slightly glassy with unshed tears.
Reaching out she took hold of his right hand, Severus flinched slightly and tried to pull away, but stopped as she places something in his hand.
"Lest we forget Sir."
She turned and walked away from him, Severus opened his hand slowly to see what she had placed there.
In the middle of his palm, lay a small fragile blood red poppy.
He closed his hand slowly, looking up in the direction that the girl had walked off in.
"Lest we forget; indeed Miss Granger."
