To Remember

Genre: General/ Drama
Rating: G
Pairing: None
Disclaimer: I just took the characters out to play for a bit, and I'll put them back when I'm done. But thanks to Tolkien for allowing me to do that much ;)
Author's Note: I didn't write these. Frodo did. I just had the wonderful fortune of finding them and sharing them with everyone else. Judging by the tone, I'd say these were given to the other three hobbits in the Fellowship from Frodo shortly before he departed for the Grey Havens. Very sweet indeed.

A Mighty Gust of Wind
A Poem to my Pippin
By Frodo Baggins.

A mighty gust of wind blew an apple
Out of it's tree.
It landed into my lap,
Shining and juicy sweet
And deep red, like the sunsets
In summertime.
Atop it sat green leaves,
Crisp and bright

A mighty gust of wind brought a child
From the Over-Heavens
Into my life.
Beautiful and sweet,
With deep red cheeks, like the pippin apples
In autumn.
And this child had green eyes,
Wondrous and soul piercing.

A mighty gust of wind found you
From far your home
Out to aid me,
Brave and selfless.
And red were the fires of those lands,
Burning and angry.
But green eyes made my burden lighter,
Innocence and light.

A mighty gust of wind is what you are
Always fleeting,
Never ceasing to move.
And red is the flush in your cheeks
Over your face splitting grin.
And green are your dancing eyes like the grass
Upon which you cannot sit still.

A mighty gust of wind is what you are.
And I what I always hope you
Remain to be, Pippin.
