This is just a short little story about a normal father-and-son conversation. It's about my OC Fleur and Connor! I really want Connor to get with somebody non-gamish. Sorry! I hope you enjoy this little short story about my two favorite men ;)
Haytham moved his way through the Wandering Weasel in Lexington. As usual, the pub was crowded with people from all over, and Haytham had to squeeze himself through uncomfortable spaces to find an empty table.
Sitting down, he scanned the scene, and he spotted his son Connor sitting a few feet away with a girl next to him. The two were in a deep conversation, and the girl clearly was smitten over Connor, twirling her hair occasionally and batting her eyelashes. Haytham looked away, but felt a pair of eyes watching him.
Connor had spotted Haytham. His expression hardened and he stood up quickly, apologizing to the girl. She nodded slightly, and looked at her fingers, looking very much put out.
"Father," Connor said, sliding into the seat across from Haytham. "What brings you to the Wandering Weasel?"
The Templar pursed his lips. "Business."
Connor rolled his eyes. "Business seems to bring you everywhere, father." Haytham shrugged. "I am a busy man." Both father and son descended into silence, with only the pub noises to accompany them. Haytham was the one to break the silence. "Who's that girl over there?"
He nodded towards the girl that Connor was with before. The native looked over at her. "Oh," he said. "That is Fleur." Haytham looked over at Fleur. "Well son, I do have to stay, she is indeed stunning."
Haytham eyed Fleur. Her curly dark brown hair was plaited and tied off with a pair of emerald ribbons. Dark blue eyes contrasted with her stark white skin and freckles were splattered across her cheeks. Fleur had eye-drawing features, like her shapely cheekbones and curvy hips. No wonder Connor is attracted to her. Haytham thought.
"We are not a couple." Connor said. "We are only friends."
"Only friends?" Haytham chuckled. "She seems to want to be more than friends"
Connor leaned forward in his seat, clearly interested. "How so?" Haytham laughed. "Interested now, are we? Dimming down, Haytham leaned back in his seat, putting his hands behind his head. "Well, first off, she clearly is smitten over you."
His son swatted his hand. "Yes, yes, but how so?" Haytham sighed. "Number one:" He held up a single finger. "She does things to make you notice her. For example; when I walked in, she was twirling her hair, trying to get your attention."
Haytham continued as Connor furrowed his eyebrows. "Number two:" He put up another finger. "She's clinging onto your every word; she doesn't mind listening to your…rants."
Connor frowned. "I don't rant."
"Oh yes," Haytham said. "Right, you have tantrums." Connor scoffed. "Whatever."
Rolling his eyes, Haytham continued. "Do you like her?" he asked his son, who also rolled his eyes. "No-I told you, we are just friends." Haytham laughed. "That doesn't mean you can't like her."
Connor tilted his head, clearly confused. "Oh, okay." He was silent after this, and Haytham waited for a response, but no response came, so Haytham gave up.
"Really Connor, I do wonder where you get your charismatic skills to acquire such a beautiful lady."
"Fleur and I are not dating." Connor replied. "We are just friends."
"Exactly."
