Albus Dumbledore and the Gerbil Within
It was spring time at the Hogwarts castle, and love was in the air. Albus Dumbledore gazed out the window onto the glittering lake and the enchanting grounds as his eyes fell upon a certain ginger haired girl. His heart skipped a beat and he wondered if they would ever be together. He decided to leave the dark corridor and make his way to the Great Hall. There he gathered the ingredients for a lovely snack. Now he was ready to confront his love. He exuberantly strutted out onto the grounds and made his way to the lake.
Ginny was staring into oblivion, obviously not taking any notice of her surroundings, daydreaming about the love she thought unattainable. Dumbledore looked at her back and long, glossy red hair, he approached her with fire in his eyes and a dancing gerbil in the pit of his stomach.
"Ginny," Dumbledore said forcing his voice into formality.
"Yes, Professor?" Ginny asked, her voice caught in her throat and a blush creeping up her face.
"A wonderful day for a picnic, is it not?" The white haired man said remembering the snack he had retrieved from the Great Hall.
"It is indeed!" Ginny whispered, forcing Albus to draw nearer, closer to her and her beating heart.
As they stood almost touching, their lips fractions away from contact, their eyes connected to each others souls, the giant squid spurted a plume of water high into the sapphire blue sky, snapping the couple back to reality. Albus Dumbledore turned away, tearing the moment into a million miniscule pieces.
"I'm must go now." Dumbledore said with regret in his voice, remembering his age and her innocence could never be one.
"Oh, I..I…"Ginny stuttered. She had almost done it, almost confessed her most intimate and shielded secret- her undying love for the man who stood before her.
Now Dumbledore knew what he had to do, the gerbil within him squeaked with the agony of being separated from his one true love for so long. Even though the Ministry of Magic had banned the use of this spell some time ago, he would not let such a trivial thing stand in his way.
"Fountianna Jeunesse!" His voice rang out. And he was incased in a glittering cloud of light, colors seemed to reflect off the shining dust. As soon as it had started it was over, and the mist had vanished. Where the old man was moments ago, a teenaged boy was now standing. Albus Dumbledore had turned into a handsome young man, with luscious brown hair, and a smirk broke many a heart on these very grounds decades ago. Albus Dumbledore was young again, he was now able to fulfill his and Ginny's wildest dreams!
"Professor?" Ginny asked hesitantly.
"Please, call me Albus." He breathed out, lifting his eyes from his new body to her shocked, yet beautiful, face.
"Oh, Albus!" Ginny flung herself into his arms with a cry that was worthy of a banshee.
And then he dipped his face down and captured her lips, but just as soon as he initiated it, she had deepened it. Their tongues began to duel, as fierce as Harry and Voldemort's last encounter. The couple had longed for this moment for so long, and they desperately clawed on each others robes. But Albus realized they were in the open, while he could not bring himself to break the kiss, he softened it and slowly began to pull away.
He whispered into her ear "I love you." And the gerbil roared in approval.
"I love you too." Ginny smiled into his still twinkling blue eyes, before they walked off into the sunset, together at last.
