I DON'T OWN LORD OF THE RINGS! I OWN THE BLACK SHADOW (NAME TO BE FOUND OUT LATER IN THIS CHAPTER)

BLACK SHADOW:

PROLOGUE:

"Men, we'll rest here for the night." The soldiers glanced around nervously, and one of them spoke up, sounding concerned. "Prince Theodred, are you sure that's such a good idea?" Theodred sighed as he jumped down from his horse. "This is just a scouting mission."

"That's not what worries me. The Black Shadow was said to be near here." Another soldier nodded. "He is said to be a legendary assassin." Theodred scoffed. "That's all the Black Shadow is. A legend. Nothing more." The soldier continued on. "He is said to not rest until his prey is dead, and will slaughter anyone who gets in his way. No one has ever seen his face." Theodred rolled his eyes. "Then how can anyone prove the Black Shadow actually exists?" A silence fell over the company as they pondered his words.

"Set up camp." Just then, a hoard of Orcs attacked them, and Theodred gave the command to fight. Unfortunately, they were outnumbered. Theodred grunted as something hit him over the head. The last thing he heard before he fell to the ground was the sound of the other soldiers screaming.

"Theodred. Find the king's son!" The soldiers began searching. "Lord Eomer! He isn't here!"

Theodred awoke with a throbbing head, all his muscles screaming in pain. He attempted to ask where he was, but all that came out was a muffled groan. That's when he realized he'd been gagged and his hands and feet were bound behind him. He heard footsteps approaching, and his eyes narrowed, thinking it was more Orcs, causing him to struggle against his bonds. Someone stood over him, chuckling, and it didn't sound like an Orc. "Looks like you're finally awake." His eyes widened, realizing the voice belonged to a female.

He looked up, seeing a young Elf standing over him. She looked to be in her teenage years, and she had lightly tanned skin, and her black hair was pulled back into a ponytail, with her bangs covering her left eye. Her green eyes seemed to be full of amusement, as if she was mocking him.

She wore rather...different clothing than most women he had met: A long black leather cloak, black pants that hung low on her hips, knee-high black leather boots, and a black top that stopped just below her breasts. That was what he couldn't stop staring at. She chuckled at his reaction. "Liking the view?" He averted his eyes, his face turning a fierce red. "Aw, is the little boy embarrassed?"

He attempted to yell at her, but all that came out was a muffled yell. "What was that?"

"Mmmph!"

"Sorry, didn't catch that."

"Mmph, mmph!" She laughed, having had her fun. "Sorry, couldn't resist." She chuckled, removing the gag, and he took a few deep breaths before speaking. "What do you want? Why am I here? Who are you?"

"One question at a time. For starters, I don't want anything. You were just in my way while I was practicing on those Orcs. Second question, you were hurt. Not lethally. Third question, my name's Kasari, but you probably know me by another name." He frowned. "And what would that be?" She chuckled, leaning up against the wall. "Ever hear of the Black Shadow?"
