"Consequences" ( a one shot POV of Gilbert Blythe)

I thought it will not only be a long day (being called at the principal's office) but evening as well. I had a lot of explaining to do.

Why did I tease "Anne" by calling her carrots? (Which led to loosing her temper hitting me with a magnetic dry erase locker board) I really like her red hair which definitely caught my attention (fiery as her mood showed).

Usually, my flirting tactics work. Ruby giggles. Jane blushes. Josie sends air kisses.

"Son,I am asking you a second time please pass the carrots. earth to Gilbert." Did my dad just mention "carrots"? gulp. my mom trying to fill in the awkwardness..."Gil, I heard what happened earlier in school. Mrs. Lynde and Marilla were here for tea this afternoon." Just great.

"This was all my fault. I teased her. I guess, between the two reactions,I expected her to be flattered than insulted which backfired since she chose the latter. Me and my big mouth. I apologized.

Unfortunately, she he did not forgive me."

Moving forward... dad mentioned something about "the apple doesn't fall from the tree"

Apparently him and Marilla (Anne's foster mother) used to date and even went to the prom together. they had some misunderstanding which led them to ignoring each other due to being proud and stubborn (but dad acknowledges her though). He told me to give it time. maybe even give Anne chocolates (peace offering). I shared my realizations with my mother who was quite impressed.

I did not see this coming, she will be praying about the situation. What I learned: "Do not compare girl hair to vegetables Or harass any female when she's not giving you proper attention. Common sense. "

I felt like I was on top of the world until I saw Anne had posted her video vlog something about "worst flirting techniques". she was referring to me aka "Lord Voldermort"the bad guy in the Harry Potter series (he who mustn't be named) ouch!

To sum it up using Miss Shirley's term this brought me to the "depths of despair." to make matters worse, my best female friend since kindergarten Ruby Gilis (my Chemistry laboratory partner) had called to inform next that she is sick and will not be going to class tomorrow.

I think, I will just distract myself through ice hockey and rowing (depending which season), scrabble and my studies (Gilbert Blythe M.D Cardiovascular Surgeon)
