Vin sat alone in the woods where he had tracked a lovely, but deadly, woman. He didn't know her story yet but knew how easy it was to attract unwarranted attention from bounty hunters. He felt the girl's eyes upon him now as he poured a thick brew from his thermos. "Coffee?" he drawled, pulling out a second cup. "How ya like it?"
"Black," she responded, her eyes finally meeting his. "As black as my soul."
Vin grinned. He doubted that was true.
"Wipe that grin off yer face." Still Faith hesitantly left the shadows to accept the coffee Vin offered.
