Jack never had a family. Well sure he had Victoria (he refused to call her his mother because mothers are suppose to nurture, Victoria didn't do that.) who showed up at random times for a week then she would disappear around the same time a bunch of money would, what a coincidence?
Jack also had Nicholas. Jack flinched at the thought ofNicholas. Nicholas (who he also refused to call him his father.)Nicholas did nothing but shit on Jack. Jack actually is pretty sure that he literally shit on him once. Nicholas punched, kicked, pulled, pushed (and much more) Jack, until the magician had enough. He took money right out of Nicholas's pocket (a trick he learned from Victoria one time when she was over for the week) and ran.
Then the runway met, well actually, he saw J. Daniel Atlas on the streets of New York City. He stills remember it to this day. He was performing what looked like a simple magic trick but then the card the girl chose was lighting up the Empire State Building! It was amazing! Beautiful! Mind-bending! He wanted to do what J. Daniel Atlas did to him to other people. And he would. He pit-pockted money for awhile. Surviving off of that until he made tips big enough to live off of. He did it.
He performed in Central Park for awhile. It was a tourist attraction, meaning people with money just wondering around. He would perform tricks leaving people in wonder, expect when he didn't. Performing in front of a bunch of tourist and New Yorkers wasn't always easy. There was always a dick in the audience who knew the trick. That dick would then call it out and prove to everyone what a failure Jack Wilder is (so then Jack would follow them and eventually take all their money without them noticing. Hey! it was their fault he didn't make tips, they owed him!)
Then he actually met J. Daniel Atlas. And Henley. And Merrit. His life changed. He was recognized as one of the best magicians. But how? He was pit-pocketing in New York and performing simple tricks! Jack ignored those thoughts though because he deserved this. He worked hard (most of the time.)
He finally had a family. The idea of a family was new to him. They cared for him. All of a sudden he was told, "I love you." All of a sudden he had someone asking, "Are you ok?" (granted he lied almost every time, it was just good to hear someone say it.) All of a sudden he wasn't alone.
So... I saw Now You See Me and I'm in love! Send me request I want to keep writing!
