Piper POV
Music blared from the speakers as campers and gods alike danced on the floor. Apollo and the Nine Muses were arguing over which music to play. Jason and I sat self-consciously at a table. We were on Olympus with the gods' invitation. Tonight the stars shone bright and the moon lit up the night like the sun did day. I looked longingly at the dance floor. It's not like Jason and I wouldn't dance. The fact is that my cabin mates as well as my mother were waiting expectantly and some held cameras. I was dressed in the regular jeans and a flannel top. Mother had replaced all my clothes with a dress, much like the one I had been given for my blessing. I was relieved when Annabeth had offered what I wore now. I don't like dresses and whenever to much skin shows Jason will blush and won't look at me. My boyfriend wore simple jeans and Camp Half-Blood shirt. We were having the party as celebration of the victory for defeating the giants. Guess who gets all the credit? The gods! Jason sighs and takes my hand. We walk onto the dance floor and hear squeals from the Aphrodite campers.
His eyes were icy blue. His golden hair was clipped short and he placed his hands on my waist. I reached forward and linked my fingers together behind his neck. I ignored my siblings and enjoyed the moment. We were dancing when Drew came over. She hadn't even started speaking when I shot into the sky with Jason.
My hair was uncontrollable in the wind until Jason calmed them. We hovered hundreds of feet above the ground. New York from this point of view was amazing. A thousand lights glittered below us. One Republic played and the music drifted softly into my ears. Slightly nervous my grip around him tightened. He seemed to sense my anxiety and he pulled closer until our noses were touching and I could feel his heartbeat.
He smiled and whispered, "They won't find us up here." He leaned in and kissed me. It was amazing and seemed to last a thousand years. He pulled away and we continued to dance. We slowly spiraled upward into the sky.
After a while I had suggested we go back down so that Jason didn't expend his energy. He shook his head and instead flew us to the roof of a building. I studied it and recognized it as one of Zeus's temples. I had seen the layouts in Annabeth's cabin. We landed on the roof. His arm wrapped around my waist and I lay my head against his chest.
The air was clear of city smog. Jason kissed the top of my head and we fell asleep. "Well! Look at these to love birds." I groaned and sat up. Jason did the same. Leo grinned infuriatingly. It was still dark out.
"Leo how did you get up here?" Jason inquired. I was wondering the same thing. Leo wiggled his shoes in front of us and I realized he wasn't holding onto anything. His sneakers had wings on them and he hovered in the air.
"Hermes found out about my video scroll so he gave me these. Turns out he was really impressed," Leo said pleased with himself.
"Alright why did you wake us up?" I asked rather annoyed. Leo could be so irritating.
"Because the bus is leaving beauty queen and unless you plan walking home it's time to get a move on."
