Fruit Salad

I once heard someone say something about me, which I thought very odd. It was one of the doctors; I forget which one.

"Cuddy's like a passion fruit. She's got a tough skin around her, just tempting you to try and break in. Then when you do, you're met with the sour juice inside."

His friend replied, and I could hear his smirk.

"They don't call them passion fruits for nothing, though."

I wasn't sure whether to feel complimented or insulted.

Observing House and his team is like inspecting the rest of the fruit salad. You can't have one without the rest.

House, the obvious one, is a pear, but only because the saying goes 'As prickly as a pear'. In reality, pears aren't prickly. I expect they only use the pear because it's an alliteration. An odd reason to choose it; it doesn't make sense. Just like House. I think he's more 'Prickly as a cactus'.

Chase is easy, too. When I expect an orange to be sweet, it's filled with sour juice. When I expect him to be horrible, Chase's terribly caring and kind. Comparing apples to oranges…it's like comparing him to the rest of the team; they're completely different. Not only because it was comparing an Australian to Americans; that's only one difference. The way he thinks is completely void in the others.

Foreman's like a tomato; an odd piece to be in the fruit salad, yet there he is.

You say tomahto; I say tomayto. He's a figure of curiosity, but when anyone tries to work him out, you can't pierce his tough skin.

Cameron's a banana. She has a defensive layer around her for her own protection.

The saying, 'There's more to a banana than meets the eye' fits Cameron beautifully. She has so many hidden secret that, at first guess, would be impossible to tell she even had.

Wilson is most like an apple. He's always there; some say it's the most important fruit. He's common. Everyone likes him. He appeals to most.

He's hard core, just like an apple.

You might describe his personality as 'crunchy'. He can be a little sour, but most of the time, he's extremely sweet.

He's certainly the apple of my eye.
