What happened after Zelgadis and Amelia were killed by Phibrizzo...
Amelia floated alone in a place of light, not fully understanding all that was going on. Then a figure formed next to her, it was Zelgadis, unconcious, "Mr. Zelgadis?! Please, wake up..." she shook him in fear.
His eyes met hers, and he grew pale, "Dear L-sama... Amelia?!" he grabbed her by the shoulders.
"Are you all right, Mr. Zelgadis?" she asked.
"I thought you had died... You did die, right in my arms...how can it be?" he put a hand to her cheek.
She flushed and her expression saddened, "Then...we must have died."
"I suppose so." he whispered, "But...I grew so terrified...when... Amelia...you're my best friend. I mean Lina and Gourry are too, but you and I have grown close."
"Zelgadis," she whispered, "There are things left unsaid from that life. Things I kept deep down inside of my heart. So, since we've died, I have nothing to lose. It won't matter."
He turned to her from his distraction of their surroundings, "Yes, Amelia?"
"I don't exactly know where to start and maybe that's the problem. From my heart I suppose. Well, like you said Zelgadis, we're best friends. We've been there for each other countless times and I've come to think of you as more than just a friend. Copy Rezo, Zanaphar, Kanzel and Mazenda, Gaav... and now this... But Gaav is what gets me. Zelgadis, if you hadn't taken that one hit for me, I'd have been dead along time ago. Why would you do that?" she asked.
"Because..." he smirked, "If anything were ever to happen to you I would never forgive myself. I don't do it just because I have to, I do it because I have my own mind...and...my own heart. You see Amelia, our bond has made me think of you as a friend, and more then that. It's that simple." he explained.
"Then, you did it because you cared about me. You do care about me?" she said in shock.
He nodded, "It just happened. It even surprised me. But I do. It's just the way I feel."
"Then why not say it to me. We had so much time. We were always together when we had a job to do." she reasoned.
"Because, I didn't realize that you could be taken away from me like that. And I never knew how, I guess I do now." he said.
"And?" she asked.
"I love you, Amelia. That's all there is to it." he said, leaned down and kissed her. Then all faded to black.
