A/N: I was just now watching the Labyrinth, and I just had this wonderful Idea: What was Jareth thinking when he was sitting in Owl form on the branch outside Sarah's window, at the end of the story? So here's my take on it. Sort of Jareth/Sarah, of course! Meant to be a one-shot, but I'm not sure. What think you?

JARETH'S THOUGHS

What were they doing? And how in Circe's name did they get Abovegroud without permission?

The monster, the inane Sir Didymus, and that repulsive dwarf were dancing around Sarah's bedroom with all of the other Undergroud riffraff. Why, even some of my own goblins had escaped!

Damn them, I thought, almost jealously.

I glared in betrayal as the scene escalated into a full-blown party. A strange pang, maybe more jealousy, maybe despair, rocked through my body as I watched them. I looked at them for a moment more before stretching my wings and taking off into the night.

Had I the ability to look over my shoulder as I flew, I might have done it, just to see her one last time. She didn't belong here, in the Aboveground, not really. Sure, she thought she did, and her ridiculous stepmother certainly believed it, but I suspected that deep down, Sarah knew that she belonged in the Underground.

And someday, she WOULD return. That was one thing I was sure of.
