She saw him climbing down the stairs as she was sprinting up to catch up to him.
"No, wait please stop!" She cried.
…..
"Penny get up or you're gonna be late for school."Her mom called out to her from downstairs.
She was feeling real dizzy and didn't even want go to school. She was having really bad feeling about going to school. She felt as if something really bad is going to happen to her and those dreaded dreams she had been having for over a month now added to that 'bad feeling'. While she was getting ready for school unwillingly she thought about those weird dreams. What were those dreams? Was she going crazy?
As she climbed down the stairs she saw her mom standing in the kitchen pouring some juice in the glass.
"Penny, what's with you? Do you feel okay?" Her mom asked her. The 13 year-old was completely sure not to show how she was really feeling and simply answered, "I'm fine Mom, and I just have a headache. It's nothing really." She was not quite sure that her mother believed her but she assumed that she did because she didn't ask any more questions. The breakfast was really awkward as she choked down her breakfast with her mom staring at her. After finishing her breakfast she ran out clinging to her backpack when she heard the distant honking of the school bus. She quickly boarded the bus and took an empty window seat.
There was a lot of nose in the bus. So Penny just closed her eyes in order to escape the chaos in the school bus.
…
She was picked up a book from the book shelf in that old library. It was a usual hanging out place for her as it provided an escapade from the real world. She didn't even look up from her book and as a result she bumped into someone.
"I'm so sorry about that, it was completely my fault." She mumbled as she picked up her book and helped the person pick up his.
When she looked up she noticed that it was a boy of just about her age and had dark brown hair. She then noticed the peculiar taste of the books the boy was reading It was about …..monsters.
It was really strange for a boy of her age as they usually prefer fiction or adventure. And the book was not about some writer's fiction but it was a really old book. It must contain something really disturbing she thought. She couldn't help but comment on his peculiar taste of books and said in a slight sarcastic tone- "Bit obsessed with monsters are we?"
"Yeah, maybe." The boy replied as he took his books from her hands with a slight smile. She thought maybe the boy remembered something, maybe someone else had commented on that earlier. The boy looked quite familiar then she remembered where she had seen him.
