War. War never changes.
Since the dawn of humankind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything, from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.
At the apex of the twentieth century, a broken humanity, bled dry from centuries of violent conflict, vowed never again to wage such a destructive war. Knowing that mankind's restlessness and inherent bloodlust must be abated, the world's leaders created game, a game of staged conflicts on a global scale carefully designed to simulate war to keep the populaces inherently at peace. Watching over them were Rostock and Lautern: two rival corporations tasked with maintaining the war in perpetuity.
The newest chapter of human history had begun with Golden Age of Peace. International animosities were decided on the stock market as the corporations shared their stocks with nation after nation. In Europe, the flag of twelve stars rose and united the Old World under a single flag. New discoveries were made and old boundaries once thought inaccessible were surpassed.
In the midst of the Golden Age came the greatest feat of science ever chronicled, when young soldiers for hire were replaced by genetic simulacra, clones of deceased soldiers retaining no memory but armed with the skills of their forerunners. These Kill-Dolls – deemed "Kildren" by their creators – were beings of heart and soul, yet perpetually adolescent to shield their minds the full nature of their actions and thus unable to be wracked by guilt or question their actions. For mankind, they were blessings.
For Earth, it seemed that true peace had come at last, until one day in the year 1980, when a mysterious portal was opened in the great frozen south of the world. Otherworldly beings called the JAM entered our world and attacked without mercy or provocation. Nations fell and humanity, unable to prevent the attack, was decimated. Weapons and armies were copied and turned against their creators. War, the indomitable, hellish force that once plague the world, had returned to reap a helpless Earth.
Now, thirty years later, the JAM War has reached a stalemate. Boundaries have been drawn between North and South. Rostock and Lautern have fallen under a single flag, now an army backed the world and armed into a force encompassing the world. And for mankind, this new bloody chapter of human history has just begun.
I know it sound like Fallout, but the central story is completely my own. Also, I don't own anything related to Fallout, Yukikaze or The Sky Crawlers. Please do not accuse of plagiarism.
