Time To Move On

She walked away from G-Major, probably for the final time. She did not even look back, if she looked back she knew she would not go through with her decision to leave. To leave G-Major. To leave Toronto. To leave Canada.

Flashback

"I'm leaving," Jude stated.

"When you called for a meeting, Jude, I thought it was because you wanted a one or two week vacation, not a permanent one," Darius said.

"I can't continue working here, it's too hard, too painful. You have to understand."

"Jude, I understand, but you have to understand that you're under contract . . ."

"Yeah, and my three year contract is up in two months, I can finish the album in half that time."

"Fine, you finish the album and I'll let you go, but are you sure about this," Darius asked.

"Positive. I'm moving in with my friend in Michigan, and I've been thinking about this a lot, I can't stay here, everything reminds me of him, I think it would be better if I left all my memories of him behind."

"Okay, I'm not too happy about letting my best artist go, but I guess I have no choice."

"Yeah . . ."

"Well, Studio A is free, so you can get some work done tonight with Kwest."

"Kay, thanks Darius," Jude said.

"No problem."

End Flashback

Jude got into her and pulled away from G-Major. In six hours, give or take, she would be in Michigan with one of her old friends, Ambria Jennings.

As she pulled onto the road she thought about all the goodbyes that took place just minutes before.

"I'm gonna miss ya, sis," Sadie said as she gave Jude a hug.

"I'm going to miss you too."

As Sadie pulled away from Jude, Jamie took Sadie's place, "I hate to see you leave, Harrison, but I guess I understand."

Kwest was next.

"It's not gonna be the same around the studio without you, it'll be quieter and there will be less drama . . ."

They all laughed.

It felt good to laugh, Jude had not laughed in a long time.

" . . . but I know you have to leave so I wish you best of luck in whatever you do."

"Thanks Kwest, that means a lot."

"No problem."

Jude looked around. There was one person left she had to say goodbye to.

Her father.

Her hopes fell when she realized her father was nowhere in sight.

"Well, I guess I better get going, I have a lot of driving to do," Jude said.

"You wouldn't leave without saying goodbye to you dad, would you?" Stuart asked.

Jude turned around and ran over to her father and wrapped her arms around him.

"Of course I wouldn't."

"Honey, I'm going to miss you so much, but I guess I always knew that one day I would have to let you go, I just wish it wasn't today."

'Me either,' she thought as a tear fell down her cheek.

"I love you, sweetheart."

"I love you, too."

After some final goodbyes she was ready to go, as ready as she's ever be.

She slowly made her way to the doors of G-Major. She reacher for the handle, but not before turning around and offering a final wave goodbye. Jude smiled sadly as she pushed open the door and walked into the bright sunlight.

Everyone has a flame of life inside of them. Jude's flame had burned out the day Tommy left, but as she passed a sign, she swore her was burning once again.

You Are Now Leaving Toronto

It was time to move on, but she realized something . . .

The old Jude Harrison was gone.

The new one was just beginning.

-The End-

A/N: This is staying a one-shot because I have no idea where I would go from here. My decision is final.
