Falling.
A hand reaching out for something that does not exist.
How could they have seen the hole there, covered by dead leaves and dainty yellow flowers.
All it took was one wrong step- and the world flew away, descending into an inky black.
The child fell into a pile of sunny flowers and leaves with a soft crunch that echoed throughout the cavern.
A golden ray of light of light shone through the darkness, illuminating the dust and slowly floating petals, and landed upon the figure of the unconscious child.
The child stirred, groaning as they sat up and looked towards the hole through which they had fallen. It stared back at them, a single glowing eye, a tiny pin prick amidst a cloak of black.
The child reached up their hand and felt the back of their head, their hand came back slick with red. Struggling to stand, they wiped their hand on their blue and pink striped shirt and looked around to see if they could make anything of the cavern around them.
Something moved within the cover of dark.
The child froze, not daring to take a breath. Their eyes strained to see something outside the golden light cast around them.
A small flower appeared before them. It slowly crawled towards them, its stem twisting and contorting as it pushed itself forward.
The child quizzically leaned to watch as the small golden flower slithered closer.
The flower looked up at the child, its small black eyes searching their face. A smile crept over its features, its sharp teeth shining in the dim light.
"Howdy!" its cheery voice rang softly, "I'm Flowey!" Soft sounds of something scraping along the cavern floor echoed. A sinking feeling of dread filled the child, they took a step back from the flower and tripped over a large green vine which the slowly coiled itself around their ankle.
"Flowey the flower!" the flower continued to creep forward, its smile only growing wider. The child tried to pry off the vine which was now tightly coiled on their ankle, and was halted by another vine that wraps around the child's wrists. The child struggled as the flower watched. Vines were coming in from all sides now, some of them were small and quick, the others large and covered with thorns. The child thrashed against the restraints.
"You're new to the Underground, aren'tcha?" Flowey smiled, saliva dripped from its fangs.
