Chapter 1: Crushes

"Why of all people must I have a crush on Erica?!" Elliot complained to no one at all. He had struggled with figuring out his crush when the harvest goddess appeared to him about earlier that day.

"Harvest Goddess, Natalie is dating Pierre. My younger sister has a boyfriend, and I don't even have a definite crush! Please Goddess, help," Elliot said.

"Do not worry child," The Goddess said. "Your crush is closer than you think. You will run into each other outside the forest on the bridge leading to the main town.

"When?" Elliot asked.

"Today. Go now and do not delay," She said.

"But why do you grant my wish?" Elliot asked.

"You have always been kind to Natalie though she has been rude. Do not delay now, child," the Harvest Goddess said.

"Thank you," Elliot said then ran off.

But he was not expecting to literally run into Erica and knock her out.

"Why of all people must I have a crush on Erica?!" Elliot complained. Yup, now that we've gotten you up to speed, what was Erica thinking that whole time?

"Today I'm going to go to the forest~!" Erica sang as she bolted awake from sleep at the inn.

"Well first I have to eat, then I have to visit Shea, then… ARGH! Forest after Lunch. One thing at a time Erica!" She said. She slipped into the most insane outfit possible: pink cheer shorts over ripped leggings and an oversized light blue T-shirt with music notes in black fabric marker and a giant bass clef in black puffy paint. She slipped on a pair of mid-thigh rainbow fuzzy socks with a frog face on them, placing them over her leggings. She put on a pair of sandals (The ones with only the top strap, not flipflops) She pulled her curly blonde hair into a ponytail and stared for a second in her deep brown eyes.

Yeah, she's not your average Joe. Or Sally. Or Erica for that matter. She grabbed a purple purse and ran to Madelyn's café.

After eating her meal, Erica was at a loss what to do, so she headed towards the forest when she was hit by a flash of pink.

Natalie?

"OF ALL PEOPLE IT HAD TO BE HER!" Elliot shouted. He had a crush on Julia for a while and hoped it was her.

"Of all people who had to be what?" Mark asked. Mark had snuck up on Elliot, but by now he was used to it. Mark and Elliot were best friends and they could tell each other anything.

"My crush… I like Erica,"

Ok obviously this isn't written the same as any story I've written before and it's short.
